SUPSI (http://www.supsi.ch)

Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI) is a Swiss academy that can count on senior researchers with a considerable experience gained from many successful application oriented research projects with the industry, in the fields of RFID, high-frequency electronics and antenna design, sensors, microelectronics and material sciences. The various research groups are backed by laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and development tools.

DTI (http://www.supsi.ch/dti)

Dipartimento tecnologie innovative (DTI) is one of five departments inside SUPSI and offers bachelors in engineering (management, mechanic, electronic and information technology), master of science (engineering and informatics), continuing education (masters, courses and diplomas) and applied research.

ISEA  (http://www.supsi.ch/isea)

Istituto di sistemi e elettronica applicata (ISEA) is a institute inside DTI that focuses on electronics and information technology related to the development of new applications.

TTHF (http://www.tthf.supsi.ch)

Laboratorio di telecom, telemetria e alta frequenza (TTHF) is the largest laboratory (about 20 FTE researchers) inside ISEA. TTHF conducts and manages various national (Federal office for professional education and technology) and international projects (Eureka's Eurostars) and transfer then the acquired know-how and competences into the base education (bachelors and masters). Intensive research activities with industrial partners in our own region and Italy helped TTHF to grow and become a competence centre for RF and HF design applied to wireless telecommunication systems and microwave-based metering systems. Another important application filed that distinguishes the TTHF is the whole domain of RFID ranging from the design of innovative tags to the development of readers in the 2.4GHz ISM band. RFID are also used for indoor localisation and starting from this consideration the laboratory wishes to extend to outdoor localisation with a GNSS-specific application field.
