Ilfov County Council is the local government of the county surrounding Bucharest and was designated to handle and manage, on behalf of and in the interest of the county local public affairs. The main duty of the County Council is to integrate the work of all local authorities to ensure the sustainable development of the county. To this end, the County Council adopts strategies, forecasts and programs of economic and social development of the county on the basis of proposals received from local councils.

Regarding the social field, Ilfov County Council have as objective within the Ilfov County Development Strategy "Orizont2020" to stimulate the social inclusion of the marginalized communities by creating the necessary premises for ensuring these communities with essential services and decent living conditions.

Ilfov County Council intends to submit a project whose main objective is to promote the active aging measures of the citizens of Ilfov County. In this regard, we want to implement innovative solutions to increase the independence of the elderly, enabling them to live longer, autonomous and dignified, as well as to increase the quality of life through IT tools.

The main activities of the project will be:

- Create a digital platform for the older people in order to find details about cultural activities and cultural events in their city, trips, opportunities to reintegrate into the labor market and also communicate with each other in order to improve their social life;

- Organizing courses to help older people acquire basic digital skills to use the digital platform and smart technologies;

- Organizing entrepreneurial courses for citizens over 50 years of age in order to reintegrate them into the labor market in view of the development of the economy and the promotion of the Silver Economy concept.

- Exchange of good practices in order to encourage active and responsible aging and to increase social participation of older people.
