Fundacion ASPAYM Castilla y León is a Spanish NGO, that specializes in Treatment and Research of Disabilities. For more than 20 years we have been working with a multidisciplinary group of both Technical and Social sciences professionals. Our mission is to promote autonomy, equal rights and opportunities and increasing the quality of life of people with disabilities, allowing them full employment and social integration.

We would like to participate as Partners, or Outsource partners in Projects that are aligned with our mission and values. The ASPAYM Castilla y Leon Association was founded in 1992 in Valladolid, Spain. It begun with regional scope and to attend the needs of spinal injury patients from the National Hospital of Paraplegics in Toledo, Spain, who where residents of Castilla y Leon region. Currently it reaches the whole region and serves to a diverse pool of disabled people, it has more than 1500 members, 300 patients, 100 volunteers and 67 employees.

Our vision is to be a leading Association that, through the quality of its Programs and Activities, Research and Development and New Technologies use, provides to people with Disabilities the necessary tools to reach the Association Mission.

Our values are among others: Solidarity, Justice, Transparency in management, Participation and Representativeness of its members, Efficiency and Sense of belonging, as a way of achieving a cohesive social movement.

WHAT WE DO: Our General Objectives are: • To promote the independence of people with physical disabilities and the disabled in general. • Promote development of programs for inclusion in society of people with disabilities. • Research and innovation to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.

Our current Research activity is focused on: • Conduct applied research on new therapies and / or devices that improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. • Perform assessments of musculoskeletal system for people with and without disabilities, analyzing objectively the effectiveness of rehabilitation received. • Collaborate as a partner or as an outsource partner in R & D for others (projects biomedicine, bioengineering, robotics, etc.., Conducted by technology companies).

WHAT WE CAN PROVIDE:

ASPAYMCYL / CIDIF has the following entities that support our research :

  1. Physiotherapy Centre. Which treats 260 patients continuously.
  2. Research Centre in Physical Disability (CIDIF) mainly investigates bone density, the amount of muscle mass, strength and power of muscles, and the development of specific work plans for muscle strengthening.
  3. Javacoya S. L. is an IT company, which is able to perform: Website development, software projects, computer consulting services and Community Manager.
  4. ICTIA, Stroke and Paresis Association . is Specialized in care and treatment for those affected by brain damage from stroke and other diseases.
  5. CETEO SL is a SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT CENTER where all employees are people with disabilities.
  6. Individualized Recovery and Social Integration of Persons with acquired disability (PIRI). Is a program that focuses on home care patients within extensive and remote areas of Castilla y León region (the biggest in size in Spain), this work is done with multidisciplinary teams of Psychology, Occupational therapy, Neuropsychology and Speech therapy.
  7. Residence disabled and Day Centre. Comprehensive care to people with high physical disabilities and other disabilities
