terzStiftung is a Swiss foundation operating as a representative body for mature people and as a service provider in the market for elderly people. Our community promotes a modern vision on ageing and helps to improve the quality of life after retirement.

Considering elderly people as end-users with specific consumer interests is a crucial requirement for successful product and business development in generation friendly markets. Both our huge network of probands out of the target group 55+ and more than 300 qualified terzExperts constantly supply valuable insights to all sorts of research and business partners through the services terz provdes. Their experience and know how has been exploited in various environments and test-scenarios, spanning over all phases of the innovation process, from basic requirements analyses up to prototype evaluation, field tests and monitoring of the commercialization phase.

Since 2012, terz has been part of various national and international development projects like the EU-funded AAL-Programme, where we act in the capacity of an end-user organization amidst consortium-partners such as European universities, research institutes, big companies as well as SME. Involving large samples of private households into requirements analyses, conceptual evaluations, prototype testings and field trials, terz has thus played a major role in tailoring generation-friendly solutions for daily assistance to the needs of both the Swiss and the common EU market. Moreover, terz regularly carries out baseline surveys to broaden our knowledge base about the third and fourth generations and to initiate large-scale media campaigns with the objective to sensitize societal stakeholders for intergenerational fairness.

Throughout our network to private subjects, terz has access to elderly people with various characteristics, environments and personal needs. Our reach covers amongst other subjects with different levels of independence, different types of housing as well as characteristics related to specific physical conditions like dementia, visual, auditive or motoric impairments.

Services to businesses comprise amongst others the quality labelling of products regarding standards for elderly customers (terzLabel: “tested by experienced users”), product testing, focus groups, mystery shopping, research, consulting, media promotion and sales partnerships. We also maintain general PR-relevant partnerships with several commercial enterprises.
