Oasi Research Institute-IRCCS, is a highly-specialized Research Institute for the “Treatment and Research on Intellectual Disability and Brain Aging”. It provides healthcare services for persons with intellectual disabilities and neurocognitive disorders under the National (and Regional) Health System reimbursement regime. Research at Oasi is funded by the Italian MoH and international grants. The research team comprises an interdisciplinary group of experts in various areas and disciplines, including neurology, psychology and engineering.

The Department of Brain Aging offers a wide range of high-quality services for this increasing portion of the population and is organized into specialized units – Prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The overall clinical services of this Department range from short-term diagnosis-oriented hospitalization, intensive in-hospital rehabilitation, day hospital care cycles, outpatient care, to a series of exams and counselling support activities, according to the Italian National Health System regulations. The offer of services for the elderly covers an area of crucial importance, providing answers and solutions that would not be possible otherwise. High-quality service provision is assured by a team of experts with high professional qualification in their respective fields; the high qualification is not only supported by academic and career achievements, but is continuously refined by their involvement in a rich and productive clinical research activity.
