We are an academic research group (from Malaga University, Spain) with expertise in algorithmic creativity, and especially in algorithmic musical creativity. We have developed a technology to adapt music to the state of the listener, changing not only its tempo or volume, but any conceivable parameter (such as style, mood, bpm, rhythms, rhythm patterns, scales, harmony, chord types, dynamics, instruments, textures, musical phrases, and various related aspects of musical composition). The music changes seamlessly, adapting in real time to the state of the listener. This technology comes from a previous project, MELOMICS, which has achieved notable press coverage.
Using signals such as heart rate, GPS and/or accelerometer in order to infer the state of the listener, this technology can be adapted to deliver music adapted to multiple objectives:
(a) relax and relieve the stress of the user,
(b) distract the user from pain,
(c) liven the user up, or
(f) help the user to concentrate on a task.
We have also experience developing mobile apps to deliver our technology.
