Golden Days Foundation

Golden Days (https://www.goudendagen.nl/over-ons/about-us/ ) is a charity foundation for the elderly in the Netherlands. In our approach, we are active in the grass roots of the community and thanks to this local focus we are tuned into the needs of the elderly. We activate local networks, volunteers, organizations, businesses and donors for thousands of much needed activities for lonely and frail elderly.

Our mission

  • To combat the growing loneliness amongst the elderly, especially those that live independently in their own homes.
  • To improve the quality of life of frail elderly.

Our strength

We are the organization with the largest formal and informal elderly related networks in the Netherlands. For this reason,

Golden Days is the organization that can reach a great number of elderly from different backgrounds and in different situations.

This makes Golden Days a very suitable organization:

  • To signal the needs of the elderly.
  • To be a part of the development of services and products as an end-user organization, involving the elderly in testing

 innovations.

How we reach the elderly? Through our network of existing infrastructures. They are:

-  The 2.400 residential homes (who also deliver home care and services).

-  7.000 community centres.

-  The 420.000 volunteers that are active for these organizations.

Expertise: service development and innovation, user perspective definition, field trials/living lab, communication/dissemination/marketing, impact assessment, project management.

Our aim: We are looking to partner with organizations who are or aim to be involved in AAL collaborative projects (short and long) in the area of healthy, active and meaningful living for elderly. Golden Days foundation as an organization is new to the field, but we, as employees, have been involved in a variety of different AAL and Horizon2020 projects through other organizations. We think Golden Days is an excellent partner with an extensive network of primary, secondary and tertiary end users in The Netherlands. We have a lot of ideas for possible solution development but are also open to new ideas.

We have expertise in user requirement analysis: the development of theme definition, personas and description of use cases. Furthermore, in trails/pilot phase, we have capacity to collect quantitative data from all end user groups and perform focus groups and in-depth interviews for more in-depth understanding. Besides this, we have extensive capacity and background in dissemination and communication.
