The AEI, founded in 2003 by the Federal Ministry of Finance and approved by the European Commission as "fully mandated body", facilitates networking and coordination of various stakeholders as well as the professional administration and management of international funding projects. The AEI represents a professional interface between its members (e.g. relevant Ministries like the MoI, and public bodies), stakeholders in international public administration and policy, research and business.
